Reduce Inflammation
No, I am not a doctor.
So a few months back I sat on the floor for like twenty minutes at a picnic (again, the group chat's idea, not mine) and had to be helped up like an elderly relative. Cool, love that for me at 23. Turns out that's inflammation.
Inflammation itself is fine actually, it's just your body reacting. The problem is when it doesn't calm back down and just hangs around making everything stiff and annoying for no reason. That's the bit I was trying to fix.
I'm not a doctor obviously. But here's what I found actually made a difference.
5 ways to reduce inflammation
I know, exercise being the answer feels like a personal attack. But just stretching and some basic core stuff, not anything intense, genuinely takes pressure off your joints and calms things down. It's slow though. Don't expect results after one Pilates class, give it a few weeks.
Salmon, avocado, nuts, soybeans, all that stuff actually helps with inflammation and your heart too. Not saying give up hot chips forever, I would never do that to you. Just eat some of the other stuff as well.
Turmeric's basically the anti-inflammatory MVP, it's the whole reason curries have been sorting people out for centuries. A turmeric latte is the easy way to actually get it into your day without cooking a whole meal around it.
Infrared saunas sound like a wellness girlie fever dream but they actually help, the heat gets your blood moving and can bring inflammation down over time. Also it's 20 minutes where you're not allowed to look at your phone, which is great for your nervous system.
Matcha's full of catechins, which is a fancy word for the antioxidants that help calm inflammation down and stop it from overstaying its welcome. You also get the immune system support and the steady energy without the jittery crash, so it's not just a pretty green drink for the aesthetic.
If you haven't tried a turmeric latte yet, this is a pretty easy place to start. No ritual, no five-step routine, just a whisk and some warm milk and your joints will probably thank you eventually.
